Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and YouTube Utils when you access or use this website. By using the service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
If you use YouTube Utils on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf. If you are not legally able to enter into this agreement yourself, you may use the service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
The service
YouTube Utils provides independent tools for working with YouTube URLs, video and playlist identifiers, thumbnails, timestamps, embed code, QR codes, and temporary video queues. The available tools may change as the project develops or as third-party services change.
The service is currently provided without charge and without requiring an account. You are responsible for your internet connection, device, browser, and any third-party service needed to use a feature.
Permitted use
You may use YouTube Utils for lawful personal, educational, editorial, research, and commercial workflows, provided that your use complies with these terms, applicable law, the rights of other people, and any terms applying to YouTube or another third-party service. You may use generated links, QR codes, timestamp text, and embed code in your own work where you have the necessary rights and permissions.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- ensuring that URLs, identifiers, labels, and other information you enter can lawfully be used for your intended purpose;
- checking generated results before publishing, distributing, or relying on them;
- obtaining permission to use copyrighted thumbnails, videos, branding, or other third-party material;
- complying with YouTube's terms, policies, and content-owner restrictions; and
- using reasonable security precautions and avoiding private or sensitive information in tool inputs.
Prohibited use
You must not use the service to:
- break the law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, or encourage another person to do so;
- download, copy, redistribute, or exploit streaming video, audio, or other material where the content provider or rights holder does not permit it;
- circumvent copyright protection, digital-rights management, access controls, geographic restrictions, age restrictions, security systems, or usage limits;
- block, remove, obscure, alter, or interfere with advertisements, branding, links, controls, measurement, or other functionality provided by a YouTube player;
- scrape YouTube or Google services, access them through unauthorised means, or use automated requests in breach of their terms;
- overload, probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, or attempt to bypass the security of YouTube Utils or a connected third-party service;
- introduce malware, deceptive content, spam, or material intended to harm another person, service, or device;
- misrepresent generated output as official YouTube or Google material, or suggest an affiliation or endorsement that does not exist; or
- use the service in a safety-critical system or as the sole basis for a decision that could cause death, personal injury, or serious damage.
YouTube and third-party services
YouTube Utils is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by YouTube or Google. YouTube content, players, metadata, thumbnails, trademarks, and services remain subject to the rights and terms of their respective owners.
Embedded players and public information are supplied by third parties. They may be unavailable, restricted, removed, changed, contain advertising, or behave differently based on your location, account, browser, consent choices, or the content owner's settings. YouTube Utils does not control those services or their content.
Your use of YouTube is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service.
Generated output and content rights
YouTube Utils helps transform information you provide into technical outputs. It does not verify ownership, accuracy, availability, suitability, or permission to reuse third-party content. Generating or downloading an available thumbnail does not transfer copyright or grant a licence to use it.
You retain any rights you already hold in information you enter. By using a tool, you give YouTube Utils only the limited permission needed to process that information in your browser and provide the requested result.
YouTube Utils intellectual property
The YouTube Utils name, original site content, design, software, and branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Except where law permits or a separate licence says otherwise, you may not copy, sell, license, or create a competing service from substantial parts of the website or its source code.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service accurate and available, but do not promise that every feature will always be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible, or available for every YouTube resource. Third-party changes can break or limit functionality without notice.
We may repair, change, replace, suspend, or discontinue a feature where reasonably necessary for security, compliance, maintenance, viability, or product development. We may restrict abusive or unlawful access to protect the service, users, or third parties.
No professional advice or guarantees
The service and its output are provided for general informational and technical purposes. They are not legal, financial, safety, or other professional advice. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an "as available" basis without guarantees about accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or continued availability. This does not affect guarantees or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Responsibility for loss
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or your mandatory statutory rights.
Subject to that paragraph, YouTube Utils is not responsible for losses caused by third-party content or services, your failure to verify an output, unauthorised use of material, events outside reasonable control, or use contrary to these terms. If you use the free service for business purposes, YouTube Utils is not responsible for loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity, goodwill, or anticipated savings, or for indirect or consequential loss, to the extent permitted by law.
Privacy and browser storage
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is processed, and our Cookie Policy describes cookies, local storage, and third-party browser technologies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service, law, third-party requirements, or risk. The effective date at the top of the page identifies the current version. Material changes may also be highlighted elsewhere on the site. Your continued use after updated terms take effect means the updated terms apply to subsequent use.
Applicable law
These terms and any non-contractual dispute are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that consumers retain any mandatory rights to use the courts and laws of the country where they live.
